Some of you may be familiar with Cupcake Vineyards' cabernet and merlot and red velvet, but have you tried the shiraz? I sampled some of the 2008 vintage this week and for the price, about $12 a bottle, it's terrific. Smooth, easy to drink with a nice fruit aroma.
The Cupcake line was launched in 2008 by native Australian Adam Richardson, the international wine director for Underdog Wine Mercants and head winemaker for Cupcake Vineyards. He also created his own A.T. Richardson wines brand. He started making wine, Adam was an aviator in the Royal Austrailian Army.
